[ he doesn't fight it when frank checks his forehead, still slumped against his pillows. his skin is clammy but his fever has gone down at least, despite his fatigue. he always looks like shit though, so that's nothing new. ]

[ his smile turns miiiiildly goofy before he banishes it from his face altogether. a wan sadness fills in for it and he draws one knee up to his chest where he's perched on the edge of the bed, looking down at his leg. ]
[ here we go. david tilts his head a little, a brief frown crossing his face when he notices the way his smile drops. he nudges his toes against frank's side, gently prompting him to go on. ]
